Cindy Gilstrap is a local gal that lives right here in McKinney, Texas! She has always loved creating! Her style is eclectic and she loves mixing vintage items with new items to create something unique. She has taught scrapbook classes and mixed media art classes off an on since the late 90’s. She is currently part of an online art group that offers seasonal tutorials and art kits. You will also find her teaching at various art retreats around Texas. You will love creating this sweet wall hanging in muted, neutral colors. It’s a perfect décor item for any home. Come and have fun learning how to combine different mediums and textures. We will create a collage background with distressed papers; make a flower from fabric, rubber stamp and more. Combining old and new items will make this the perfect little project.

Cascarones are Colorful Mexican confetti egg shells.
It's believed that Marco Polo brought them from Asia and eventually made it to Spain and then Mexico, where they became known as "Cascarones".
Today many say that the colorful confetti shower brings luck and good fortune to those to whom an egg is broken over their head. I will teach you  how to make these beautiful holiday crackers from beginning to end.

MemoryWare Letter

Memoryware Letter Memoryware is so much fun to do… easy, fast & anything goes! It is to mosaics what crazy quilts are to quilting. We will cover the top of letter (approx. 8”) of your choice with practically anything you want as long as we can make it stick & get it done before the mortar dries. The idea behind Memoryware is to take all of those little bits and pieces of your life that you have tucked away in the bottom of drawers and boxes and combine them in one fantastic piece of folk art. We will have plenty of shells and broken bits of china available from the Studio China Pile for you to use on your project but you must bring in your own trinkets to make it your own! The materials fee only covers one letter but I will have extra available for an additional $9.00 per letter. If you work fast you could spell out a word! This project makes a great graduation gift.

Or if you prefer you are welcome to purchase a bottle of colored glitter downstairs if you want to do something a little different from the rest of us.

These cones are so nostalgic of the old German cones made back in the early 1900's and carried on the first day of school by all the little German boys and girls. It was filled with all sort of goodies. I have revamped these precious delights and added a bit of Halloween glam and sized them up a little! They are over two feet tall! Now , who wouldn't want to get that for a Halloween treat!

Imagine placing this on you credenza in your entryway and each crepe tower filled with your most favorite candy to give. This will definitely be the talk of your Halloween gathering!
